The Chairman of the State Committee of Water Economy Arsen Harutyunyan received the local representative of KfW Office in Armenia Zara Chatinyan.

Ms. Chatinyan introduced to the newly appointed Chairman of the Committee the projects being implemented by KfW Bank in Armenia, as well as the details of current projects.

Pursuant to Ms. Chatinyan’s opinion, one of the most important projects is “Investment program of Water supply and Sanitation of Armenia”. The tender process for the consultants of detailed design works is being carried out in current situation. The financial part of KfW Bank is 30 mln Euro in this project.

 

The representative of KfW Bank also highlighted the project of biological treatment plant construction in Shirak Marz, the total cost of which is 4.5 mln Euro.  According to the project, construction works will last for 3 years.

 

Mr. Arsen Harutyunyan highlighted the activity of KfW Bank in Armenia and expressed readiness to cooperate much more closely.

 

“KfW Bank is one of the structures, which has careful and thorough approach to tender processes. In my opinion, tender processes should be organized by clear and comprehensible criteria, ensuring fair competition and providing participation of many companies, which will enable to have not only a qualitative selection, but also to ensure maximum transparency in the whole process”,- mentioned Mr. Harutyunyan.

 

It should be noted that “Communal Infrastructure Program” is implemented in Armenia by KfW Bank support, the total cost is 74 mln Euro. The tender for project design has already been carried out and the relevance contracts have been awarded in the framework of the program.
